Efteling – Pipe Filling.
Whilst we wanted to ride the rollercoasters with Pardoes, this time we were visiting the Efteling to fill an old sewage pipe!

What's the job?
Nestled on the outskirts of Kaatsheuvel you can find the Efteling theme park. This is the largest theme park in the Netherlands attracting around 5.6 million visitors!
Resins Industry has successfully completed work at the park before. In May we returned, this time to fill a disused sewage pipe measuring 45m, with a diameter of 300mm.
Usually a vent is created at the end of the pipe and foam is distributed from the entrance. On this occasion the end of the pipe resided underneath a carousel. Unfortunately this meant a vent couldn’t be created for the foam to exit.
Adapting to the situation, our team initiated the normal procedure in reverse. By inserting a PE hose, until it reached the end of the pipe, they could begin the process as normal from the back instead of the front.

Swings and Roundabouts
Decades of experience guarantees that our methods and operators are adaptable to each situation. We always deliver a high level of quality and expertise.
How we overcome problems!
During this project the team discovered that foam was leaking through a manhole cover mid-way between the start and end point. Naturally the foam was escaping through the path of least resistance rather than filling the pipe.
Using weights we firmly sealed the manhole cover forcing the foam to be diverted back through the pipe in its intended manner.
It also became clear that there was some water still in the pipe. For safety and quality reasons it is very important that there are no gaps or water remaining in the pipe. As a solution a water pump was used to drain that last bit of water, ensuring it was completely filled.
